DirtHoggPaydirt.com (1lb Bag) (2nd Review)

To start things off I want to apologize it took me oh so long to put up another review. It hasn't been because I didn't want to, but I recently had some medication changes and wanted some time to acclimate to them. So spent a while just chilling with the kids! The good news is while I was chilling my wife went above and beyond and got me a lot of paydirt to review. So the next few weeks I will be posting a lot of review, guaranteed.

I also want to take a minute to thank everyone who has donated to the paydirt review cause! I could never thank ya'll enough, but hopefully you enjoy the paydirt reviews your donations help fund. I also want to thank the people who have donated some awesome new pans for me to try out and a Desert Fox wheel. So those reviews should be coming soon as well.

Also todays reviews will be using the new review system so do not compare this review with older ones. I promise to update all old reviews to the new ranking system by the end of the month. You can view my video on how all new reviews will be reviewed HERE.

Well on to the review and remember to subscribe to my YouTube channel HERE so as to not miss any of my reviews.

The Review:

DirtHogg.com is one of my original paydirt that got me hooked on panning at home. I bought a ton of their paydirt and loved every single bag. Sadly though I then moved onto other sellers to try out other “new' or “exciting” sellers and got ripped off a lot. So then I decided to build this site and highlight the great sellers like DirtHogg and warn people of the bad bags. Sadly though this new course has kept me away form one of my favorites for way too long. I have tried not to review the same sellers over and over and instead review as many different ones I could. However I made a list of some of the old reviews with no videos I wanted to re-review and my wife found it. Thus the paydirt I am getting ready to review was because my wife is the best!

One of the reasons I really wanted to re-review this particular bag is it was my 1st “TOP ROI” bag. It held the #1 spot for so long I felt it really needed an update and man am I glad I did this review. The paydirt was just as much fun as I remember and boy did I find some gold. Not only did I find some nice pickers/flakes but it had some real flour gold in it. So started out as easy then BAM, eye crossing goodness.

The final ROI didn't unseat the current champ, but it was a +100% bag and I will take one of those any day. The ROI would have ended at 123.18% if I had used my actual cost with my combined shipping. At that it would have taken the #3 spot right after the 1st Dirthogg 1lb review I did oh so long ago with combined shipping. So as I stated in the video review I highly suggest combining shipping on this seller.

I also want to mention the piece of quartz that had gold inlaid into it. If I removed the gold from it the ROI would have been even higher, but sadly that rock specimen is now entombed in my sons display case.

The only thing better than the DirtHogg paydirt was the super fast customer service my wife got from them. She emailed them and within five minutes had an extremely detailed reply. Then two more super fast replies to her two follow up questions. In total 3 messages were replied to within 15 minutes. So thanks for the super help Mr B!

DirtHoggPaydirt's 1lb bag  ended with a score of 9.5 out of 10. This is a absolute great score, especially with my new rankings. It was only slightly dinged for the lack of a detailed description on its website. Now I did get all the answers I wanted once my wife emailed them within minutes but to be fair to other sellers I am going to review I have to base the Description & Quality based on whats on the website not via customer service. I also gave the 1lb bag form DirtHoggPaydirt an 8 for the coffee bag I don't care for. I do wish I could give extra points for customer service or the over 100% ROI but I want my reviews to be as standardized as I can make them for these rankings.

This review is my opinion and my results may vary from your results. My bag may have been a bad batch or a great batch, remember no two bags of paydirt are ever the same. So please use common sense when buying paydirt from any seller. Oh and good luck and happy panning!

  1. Love the reviews – have purchased several bags based on your reviews. Most were what was expected – one or two disappointments, but that’s true for any product, no whining! However, I have to know if you are ordering under your own name, and do the suppliers know who you are and what you do? In other words, are they sending you “enriched” bags in order to get more positive reviews? BTW I am waiting for your review of the Desert Fox wheel – I used one for years ’till it died and loved it. Got a new one this year but wish I could get the old one back. Keep up the good work – some new prospectors are depending on you.

      Hey Dennis
Thanks for all the kind words! As to your question:

Sometime I order in my name, my wife’s maiden name, just my last name, and my father in law buys some for me as well. On average the ones in my name tend to be lower on my ROI list, so nobody has sent me that bonanza bag yet in my name. All the Lynchmining was in my wifes maiden name except for the 5lb bag that was in my name cause I forgot and it had lowest ROI of all the LynchMining bags. I also sometime buy form places where names don’t matter. For example I have bought a few bags off amazon that are shipped by amazon so no way seller can manipulate. Those are always in my name. In fact in next few days have 2 reviews coming from an amazon order.

Also I too am waiting for me to get off my butt and do the review for the Desert Fox. I have a pile of pans, DIY stuff I made, a Miller table and the FOX that all need reviews, but I can’t seem to find the time when I feel well.

  2. Dylan I really like to reviews but I do wish that you would just get on with it and stop babbling you really are really tedious when you do that thank you

    • When I get excited I babble. The only way to not babble in my videos would be to have a scripted review like some other reviewers and that is just not me. The good thing is you can always just come here to read the review and if I babble here, just scroll down, lol. I will try to tone it down though, sometimes it is because I am not prepared enough. When you are ill a lot, when you find time to pan gold you don’t want to spend an hour writing notes etc, especially when in an hour you might be back down for the count. I have been making cheat sheets to try and speed my videos up so maybe will keep down the babbling.

  3. You need to reviewGolldstrikeadventures paydirt:

They offer an excellent value in their paydirt and I consider Don Finley a good guy to do business with.

    • All sellers will eventually be reviewed including yourself. It just takes time and money and I am always short on one of those and in some cases both, lol.

  4. I really enjoy your reviews. I had to put my findings here. I bought four of their one pound bags to save on shipping. I purchased August 27, 2017. I received September 5, 2017. So, 9 days. Not bad coming from Canada to Texas. Total cost was $139.00. Bag #1 was .4 grams, #2 was .28 grams, #3 was .2 grams and #4 was .3 grams for a total of 1.18 grams from 4 one pound specials. I don’t know if i’m extremely unlucky, but a few things I noticed. 99% of the gold was +10. 2-3 pieces each bag. All bags had zero -10,+20. All bags had .04 to .05 -20,+30 I only have the -30 to go through. but do these bags generally have half a gram or better in flour gold? I would appreciate anyone else findings to compare too. Thanks

    • Hey Jody
While I don;t think I found 1/2 gram in the under 30, I did find a lot. You can see it at the 12:00 minute mark in the video. I am hoping it is all in the under 30 and its not because you got bit by the bad luck bug, it does happen though look at my sad sack adventures with goldrushpaydirt. I would definitely pan the under 30 out carefully because it had a lot of under 50 gold. Also I personally would repan out the -10/+20 simply because it is odd not to find any but find some in the -20/+30. They are so close in size, that if a piece goes side ways it doesn’t go through screen or if its facing down it does. So definitely would recheck that.

Wishing you lots of luck with the under 30, make sure you post final results.

      • I finally got through the -30. All four bags of -30 were combined. out of all the -30,I got .27 grams. I guess I was unlucky. 🙁

        • Ouch, that is some bad luck. What makes it worse is usually sellers tend to put more gold in larger buys. Since most sellers use sliding scales on gold, so between 1-2 grams per bag. That way bigger buyers have better chance to get higher ROI bags.
