Prospector Matt 1lb Virginia Paydirt Review

The Review of Prospector Matt 1lb Virginia Paydirt:

This week I am going to be doing 3 reviews of paydirt from Prospector Matt who just recently started selling online. I found his website while browsing eBay and emailed him soon after. The customer service I received was wonderful, answering about 12 emails in a single day as I asked away and bugged him to death probably. Yet he replied to each question which convinced me to buy multiple bags from him for review.

One of the first things that intrigued me about Prospector Matt's Paydirt was this quote “Added Treasures , and/or silver and coins added to every bag of paydirt!”. Which is on the first page of his website and who doesn't love treasures. So when my bags arrived I rolled them around in my hands trying to see what kind of treasure might be in store for me. It made waiting the month till I had time to review them excruciating.

The bag I decided to review first this week is his 1 lb Virginia paydirt. I was raring to go and excited to see what the coins I had seen through the bags were. Plus I really wanted to see how much gold was going to be in my pan. I loved seeing all the “treasures” in the +10, so much so that I didn't really even care I didn't find any gold.

Now once i got to the -10/+20 and only found no gold I was starting to wonder, would I find more treasures? Well once i got to the -20/+30 I still didn't have any answers as all I found was one lone flake of gold. That means all the gold had to be in the -30 and surely I would find enough to make up for the disappointment in the other two classifications.

I was wrong, I did find gold, but not enough to make the joy come back. A few small and I mean small flecks of gold is all I ended up finding. I fought through the tablespoon of black sands that were in this paydirt for 6-8 specks of gold. I ended up feeling pretty let down with this bag of paydirt. So much so that I doubt I would call this stuff a treasure bag instead of paydirt. I found more value in the treasures than I found in gold.

Prospector Matt 1lb Virginia Paydirt bag ended with a score of 6.2 out of 10. A very disappointing bag of paydirt, once i got past the non gold bonus material. While the customer service was excellent it couldn't make up for the real lack of gold.

This review is my opinion and my results may vary from your results. My bag may have been a bad batch or a great batch, remember no two bags of paydirt are ever the same. So please use common sense when buying paydirt from any seller. Oh and good luck and happy panning!
