Prospector John 2oz Concentrate Paydirt Review

The Review of Prospector John 2oz Concentrate Paydirt:

After my last two bags of paydirt from Prospector John I was a little worried about this one. Not so much it wouldn’t have gold, but that some how it would still end up disappointing me even if it did. Well guess what, I ended up being sorely disappointed in these concentrates. Which seemed to be a common theme with this sellers paydirt.

The first thing I noticed with this bag of paydirt was the weight. The bag weighed exactly 2 ounces, actually it was slightly less but my scale rounded it up. Again this is a pet peeve of mine. I do not think it is fair to charge a customer by the weight for a ziploc bag. Customer are paying for the paydirt, and if you cant give them the full 2oz don’t sell! Just another problem that seems to be common with Prospector John.

While classifying the paydirt I noticed that it had +10 material, not a lot. Then again this is a 2oz bag so any +10 material should be rare. I honestly thought I would get maybe 1 or 2 small rocks over the +10 but what I found was a good amount considering this is supposed to be concentrates.

Another thing that I found odd was these concentrates were devoid of any real black sands. Which seems to be a common these with the bags. I also found zero gold in the -30 classification which again seemed odd for concentrates. The paydirt was extremely clean and was extremely easy to pan.

In the end I found all of the bags from Prospector John to be underwhelming. In fact I found myself thinking maybe he has become lazy or has stopped caring about his paydirt. To have 2 of 3 bags have underweight. 1 of 3 bags no gold, and poor customer service. It just wasn’t how I remembered my old bags from Prospector John.

Prospector John 2lb Raw Alaska Paydirt bag ended with a score of 6.0 out of 10. Low ROI, poor customer service, short bag and other issues killed this bags chance at a  high score.

This review is my opinion and my results may vary from your results. My bag may have been a bad batch or a great batch, remember no two bags of paydirt are ever the same. So please use common sense when buying paydirt from any seller. Oh and good luck and happy panning!
