Eureka Joes 2lb Taste of Alaska Paydirt Review

The Review of Eureka Joes 2lb Bag Paydirt:

I have previously reviewed Eureka Joes and 2lb Taste Of Alaska paydirt. That bag had a score of 8.0 but I did miss grade one item so it probably would have graded out as a 7.9 as well. So before I get into the real review at least one thing about this seller is it is consistent. It’s just too bad neither bag was great, just average, so consistently average.

This bag started on on a real positive note. The paydirt cam double bagged, and I love that, even if the main bag is a coffee bag at least they added a second (ziploc) bag to catch anything if the main bag broke. So off to a good start, but it kind of went down from their.

Now I normally don’t expect to find a lot of gold in the +10 material, but when your paying $55 which is more then the cost of a gram of gold you want to find at least one piece. Especially on a 2lb bag where about 12oz of your material is in the +10 range. Sadly I did not! All I found was dust and more dust, oh and the +10 rocks.

Once I got down to the -10/+20 and -20/+30 is when i hit the mother load of gold. The problem was it just wasn’t enough. It was fun sort of, I mean I was finding gold but again just not enough. Then when I got to the -30 I found a lot of fine gold, but fine gold doesn’t move scales as much as I needed it too.

In the end I was so so happy with this bag but I got the impression this bag was a $55 sample bag. So you could see how the dirt is, what kind of gold etc, but just a small taste so you would buy a larger more expensive bag. Which at a 55% ROI I won’t be rushing off to do. Now this isn’t horrible paydirt, but when you start getting in the +$55 range they have a lot more sellers with a bigger bang for the buck.

Eureka Joes 2lb Paydirt ended with a score of 7.9 out of 10.

So I was happy with this bag but it was pretty in the middle. Nothing to wow you over or really complain about. Just an average bag of paydirt!

***Disclaimer***

This review is my opinion and my results may vary from your results. My bag may have been a bad batch or a great batch, remember no two bags of paydirt are ever the same. So please use common sense when buying paydirt from any seller. Oh and good luck and happy panning!

  1. Got my dirthogg over weekend very nice paydirt ty for the review. I have a question tho found some silvery stuff in it along with I think there citrine gems. Not sure what the silver stuff is looks like maybe silver platinum or raw tin have you found this stuff in dirthoggs?

    • I have found tin before but was Australian paydirt. Not so sure it is very common in Alaska. If it is metal then probably silver, as platinum is very dull looking. Most gold is found with silver, and most gold actually contains silver in it.

    • I just went thru a bag of dirt hogg and found the silver stuff too. I emailed them and they replied and said it was silver ore.

  2. Oh and ya the Joe’s looks bad. Never bought from them. Doubt I will.

    • They aren’t bad really just middle ground paydirt. At least they are consistent, lol. Mayeb oen day will try one of the larger more expensive bags to see if the ROI is better.
